In light of the continuing increase in cases of COVID-19, the BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) is closing its remaining four offices in Fort St. John, Victoria, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson. Regulator offices in Terrace, Kelowna, and Prince George closed on March 17.
The majority of our staff are working from home and we have suspended all non-essential travel, so any inquiries or required meetings are being held via phone.
The Regulator has tested its systems so staff can work from home, and operations are being maintained during this period, including all emergency services. Industry emergencies can be reported to the Regulator’s 24-hour emergency line at: 1-800-663-3456.
Health officials have noted things are changing rapidly and the Regulator is monitoring the daily health briefings and is prepared to take whatever further steps may be necessary to protect public safety and provide the critical functions it has a responsibility to deliver on. Further updates will be provided as circumstances warrant, and you can stay up to date by following us on social media on Twitter and Facebook.
