The BC Energy Regulator’s Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Ken Paulson is retiring on Dec. 10, 2021, having served in the role for 10 years. Ken has been with the Regulator since 2009 when he joined as Chief Engineer.

Ken has overseen many accomplishments and improvements during his tenure including: the management of induced seismicity; the establishment of the Aboriginal Liaison Program and Western Regulators Forum; and the development of the compliance management system and emergency management program.

Trevor Swan will be assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer following Ken’s departure. Trevor has worked for the Regulator since 2010, spending seven years as the Regulator’s Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer before being seconded in 2018 to the B.C. provincial government to assist with resource related legislative proposals. Trevor returned in 2020 and has served as Executive Vice President, Liabilities & Orphans.
