The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) has made changes to pipeline Notice of Intent (NOI) submission requirements to increase oversight of pipeline integrity. The changes include enhancements to the NOI Repair or Replace Pipeline (in-kind) and addition of a new NOI for Integrity Activities.

The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) has made changes to pipeline Notice of Intent (NOI) submission requirements to increase oversight of pipeline integrity. The changes include enhancements to the NOI Repair or Replace Pipeline (in-kind) and addition of a new NOI for Integrity Activities.
Changes to the NOI Repair or Replace Pipeline (in-kind) include:
- Enhanced documentation requirements,
- Requirement to submit an NOI for repairs of pipeline installations, and
- Requirement to submit an NOI for the installation of repair sleeves.
- Submission of the NOI for a repair sleeve is not required prior to installation
The new NOI Integrity Activities is required for:
- inline inspection of pipelines for the purposes of integrity condition assessment, and
- integrity dig programs.
Notification prior to commencement of Integrity Activities is not required. Results are to be submitted 30 daysafter completion of the annual program. One NOI should be submitted for each Pipeline Project Number.
