DATE ISSUED: June 14, 2019

The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) is advising industry that effective immediately INDB 2018-15 New Measures Applied to Oil and Gas Applications is no longer in effect.

The Regulator will follow the Interim Consultation Procedure (ICP) with Treaty 8 First Nations to guide consultation with Blueberry River First Nations (BRFN). Some consultation process improvements will be implemented by the Regulator, and timely offset restoration in Area 1 & 3 will continue to be required.

It should also be noted there will be a new form on the Regulator’s documentation page that operators should use, as the Regional Strategic Environmental Assessment (RSEA) Interim Measures Form is no longer an application requirement.

The Regulator is committed to effectively engaging with First Nations across the province of British Columbia to encourage dialogue in processes affecting them.
