Northeast B.C. is currently experiencing drier than normal conditions, along with the rest of the province. The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) is monitoring the drought situation and is part of the Provincial Technical Drought Working Group. If dry conditions continue to persist, a Directive to suspend water use in affected watersheds will be issued.

Watersheds of particular concern are within the Peace River watershed (East Peace Basin, North Peace Basin, and South Peace Basin), the Bulkley-Lakes Basin, Upper Fraser West Basin, and the Upper Fraser East Basin

For current provincial drought levels, refer to the B.C. Drought Information website.
