An annual review of the Fee, Levy and Security Regulation has resulted in a change that takes effect immediately. .

The Energy Resource Activities Act allows the British Columbia Energy Regulator (BCER) to set and collect fees, levies and securities required to meet its regulatory obligations and recover expenses subject to approval by Treasury Board. Current fees, levies and security requirements are set out in the Fee, Levy and Security Regulation (FLSR).

The annual review has resulted in a change to the FLSR that takes effect immediately.

The new levy rate is set out as follows:

  • Woodfibre LNG Project: The levy for the Woodfibre LNG Project is increased from $900,000 to $1.2 million.

New application fees are also being introduced for hydrogen, ammonia and methanol manufacturing facilities. The fees are based on the design capacity of each facility. The application fee for a Class A manufacturing facility will be $12,400 while the application for a Class B manufacturing facility will be $50,000. Major amendments for manufacturing facilities will incur a fee of $7,000, while minor amendments will incur a fee of $1,000.
