The AMS has been enhanced to add a new associated activity type for offsets, to support offset activity requirements following the Gundy Complex HV1-C Plan.

DATE ISSUED: Aug. 13, 2024

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

The BC Energy Regulator (BCER) has enhanced the Application Management System (AMS) to add a new associated activity type for offsets, effective immediately.

This change was implemented to support offset activity requirements as described in Technical Update 2024-11: Guidance for Energy Industry Following the Gundy Complex HV1-C Plan. Applicants who are required to apply for offsets under regulation, must include offsets as an associated activity type within their application. The spatial data must include and reference the associated activity type (AS_TYPE) for Offset (OSET).

The Requirements for Consultation and Notification Regulation (RCNR) and Rights Holder Engagement (RHE) Line List have been updated to include the new associated activity type for Offsets. As described in Technical Update 2024-06, applicants must ensure they are using the most recent version of the RCNR and RHE Line Lists, which can be found in the supporting documents section of Chapter 6 of the Oil and Gas Activity Application Manual on the BCER website.

Further guidance on application requirements for offsets can be found in the Oil and Gas Activity Application Manual and the AMS Spatial Data Submissions Standards Manual. Updates to these existing guidance documents will be posted in future documentation updates on the BCER website.
