The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) has ended water diversion suspensions for basins within the Peace River and Liard River watersheds.

Background:

The Regulator issued Directive 2019-01 on June 12, 2019 suspending all previously approved water diversions under section 10 of the Water Sustainability Act due to drought conditions for basins within the Peace River and Liard River watersheds.

The suspension is now ended as basins across northeast British Columbia are back to normal water levels.
