The Kotcho orphan management area captures the sites east of Fort Nelson around Kotcho Lake.
Our primary focus was in the Yoyo field.
- 6 wells decommissioned
- 6 sites deactivated and/or decommissioned
- 7 sites undergo investigation
- 3 sites remediated
- 1 site received a Certificate of Restoration Part 1
- 4 sites reclaimed or revegetated
FUN FACT!
Did you know some of the areas we work in are only accessible via helicopter (in the summer) or ice roads (in the winter)? An ice road is used to access areas that may be too wet to access in the summertime, such as muskeg. An access will be allowed to freeze, then equipment such as snowcats, graters and water trucks will build up the ice layer, allowing heavy equipment to safely access these remote locations.
